Shah Alam, Selangor
Well like everyone else, I am oblivious to e-commerce, simply becos of all the rumors on how unsafe is the world wide web platform... The truth is, that it is secured as long as it is used safely by the user themselves. In anyway not comprimising their user logon, password or credit card details to anyone else but the authorised safe sites.
Well I went for the Wireless KL, "e-Commerce workshops” 3rd Dec 08, 6.30pm night at The Apartment, KLCC. Was enlightened by the workshop conducted by eBay Education Specialist, Ms Carol from Chiica Consulting, which covered varies important topics on how) we can selling online a part time income.. (I can;t describe the points, but it was truly inspiring... They also later offered additional FREE eBay Phone Based Consultation Program (2 session (1 hr each), I just completed my sessions yesterday.... got a couple of things to wrap up still... I would to share my experience as a First Time eBay Seller to all K.U.C. Members.....
"YOUR START UP KITS"
1) YOU MUST HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION ! [ Hehehehehe ]
2) Go to any banks who offers VISA Debit Cards, which can be linked to Paypal. I went to Public Bank and apply for Debit Card - Public Bank Visa Electron (There is a fees of RM2.75 for processing, and they require an innitial deposit of RM25 into the account). It will take 2 weeks for you to get your Debit card. Meanwhile continue with other task of getting yourself prepared... (You can use your Credit Card for Paypal, but withdrawal from your Credit Card is chargeble min RM15 or 5% each withdrawal - whichever higher.
3) Then register for http://www.eBay.com.my and http://www.paypal.com. Go to eBay, and link it to your Paypal account. Note that your Ebay logon id is a Universal eBay ID (can use in ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, ebay.com.sg, ebay.com.nz, ebay.*) 4) Once your Debit Card arrives, apply for Debit card "Pin No", Online banking, & Phone banking for your debit card account no. for your later use anytime, anywhere 24-7.... Once you receive the Card Pin, change it of cos (Hehehehe)... 5) In Paypal, you would need to add your Debit Card to your account. After which there is a verification process, which will cost you USD1.50 - I think (which Paypal will refund after the Verification process)
6) Logon to your online banking, like mine is https://www2.pbebank.com/main.html, and check for the 4 digit verification code sent by Paypal. Copy this code, and verify your card in Paypal account website.
7) Now when you have settled your account side, now its time to start eBay e-commerce........
