Guys, a tip on the WiMAX internet services provider, a sincere advise not to subscribe contractual for any services till all the WIMAX ISP providers are fully in operations....
Take my word for it... The attached documents are the latest development....
Yes it might take another year at most, but all the ISP are currently trying to lock down their users to a min 2 years contract... check out P1 & TM Streamyx incredible offers currently...
My gf recently took up a celcom broadband advance, and she stays in KK, she could hardly get 3 out 5 bar..though it was claimed by celcom that our area KK, KU, KR and Bukit Rimau even has HSDPA...:P
So not putting much hopes on wireless solutions at least for now....for my future IR unit..
possibly just stick to convential streamyx...
You are right, wired broadband services are the best.. The problem is its being monopolized by TM, AND their services get very very sad once they start oversubscribing the area. Anyhow I am hoping they have laid a fibre infra for the TM POP to ease that issue a bit...
The fact is, WIRELESS INTERNET is a new revelation bro... Wireless Internet, the idea is to be able to surf anywhere, anytime, anyhow in Malaysia. WiMAX is a pure 4G technology (Packet based - All IP), unlike what has been launched in Malaysia so far... Trust me its going to be breath taking when its OUT.. Its going to redefine mobile internet at a whole new level..
But yeah, not at the moment though... give it another year time... currently the WiMAX players have not unleashed the true WiMAX experience, simply becos they all have their own strategies (Slow & Fast)... Within a year, we can see it all revealing themselves... 4 players additional players which would be a huge competition to the current ISP's and the Mobile service operators...bringing forth a new technology plus a whole new experience for us consumers...
And to add further, make no mistake by buying the new Maxis 3G iPhone, its pointless buying some old wireless technology chipset mobile set just for the attractive interface...
Personally, I think be it Streamyx or P1 ... they are out to make money .... so consumer is always on the loosing end. P1 or new Celcom broadband or new Digi broadband, all their pricing are "homogenous" ... unless there is one market spoiler, otherwise, we will still be paying for peanuts service .....
see their latest "fair usage" policy, this is nonsense!! Another way of cheating us with their 1Mbps la, 2Mbps la which they only pipe their link with so little user ..... when number of users get bigger, our real throughput get reduced! then they come out with fair usage policy to limit everyone's usage ..... what a rip off.
Lets hope the other WiMAX providers slowly evolve to become the market spoilers.. hahahha... To me P1, seems no different Celcom, maybe cos the CEO, Michael Lai, former TMNET CEO... hahaha, why change when it has always works... Anyhow hope the other WiMAX providers truly redesigns broadband is here in Malaysia, check out REDESIGN MALAYSIA Portal for updates on Broadband services in Malaysia...
